My journey into photography

Hi, I’m Gemma. I am a Mum of two, wife, former Early Years and Primary Teacher, and passionate about family photography. Photography for me is about preserving our precious memories for us to enjoy and share for years to come. As a little girl, one of my most cherished memories is sitting with my Nanny and leafing through our family albums. It was a journey through time, seeing my Mum as a little girl, witnessing my Nanny’s wedding day, and discovering the roots of my family tree. Those albums became treasures, and I still hold onto them dearly, eager to share them with my own children now.

Through my lens, I create more than just photographs. I strive to weave stories, evoke emotions, and preserve the essence of your family’s journey, just like those albums did for me. Because every click captures a moment, and every moment captured tells a story – your story, to be cherished and shared for many years. Just ask my family (they’ll probably roll their eyes), I always have a camera in hand trying to save every precious memory with them, because I know how fleeting they are. Their first smile, first steps, the way they curl their tiny hand around your finger – these moments are truly priceless.

I specialise in creating timeless, natural images using natural light in my home garden studio, to capture the emotion and authenticity of your personal journey into parenthood. My style of photography is clean, emotive, and natural, using neutral palettes, textures, and materials.
